About WINERY:
Volcanic Hills Estate Winery is a family-owned winery located in West Kelowna, British Columbia. Established in 2010 by the Gidda family, the winery's name is inspired by its location on the southeastern slope of Mount Boucherie, a 60-million-year-old dormant volcano. The volcanic soils contribute to the unique terroir that defines their wines.
The Gidda family's journey began in 1958 when Mehtab Gidda immigrated from East Punjab, India, with a dream of farming. By 1978, they started cultivating grapes, supplying fruit to notable wineries like Gray Monk and Mission Hill. Today, the family manages 68 acres of vineyards, producing wines that reflect the rich mineral content of the volcanic soils.
The 15,000-square-foot facility features one of the largest tasting rooms in the Okanagan Valley, a wine boutique, and a production area. Visitors can enjoy panoramic views from the patio, participate in seasonal events, and dine at the on-site restaurant, Vino Italian, which offers dishes that pair well with their wines.
