About WINERY:
Tantalus Vineyards is a distinguished winery located in South East Kelowna, British Columbia, perched on the eastern slopes of the Okanagan Valley with panoramic views of Lake Okanagan. Established in 2004 by proprietor Eric Savics, the estate occupies one of the oldest continuously producing vineyard sites in British Columbia, originally planted with table grapes in 1927 by horticulturist J.W. Hughes.
The vineyard's legacy is anchored by old vine plantings, including Riesling from 1978 and Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from 1985. These mature vines form the backbone of Tantalus's focused portfolio, which emphasizes single-vineyard, terroir-driven wines. The winery is particularly renowned for its Riesling, Pinot Noir, and Chardonnay, earning recognition both nationally and internationally.
In 2010, Tantalus unveiled British Columbia's first LEED-certified winery facility, underscoring its commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship. The modern, state-of-the-art building houses a gallery-style tasting room that showcases works from acclaimed Canadian artists, providing visitors with a unique blend of wine, art, and architecture.
Visitors to Tantalus can enjoy a range of tasting experiences, including seated tastings, all set against the backdrop of the vineyard's stunning lake views.
