Lightning Rock Winery is a boutique, family-owned winery perched on the volcanic ridges of Summerland, British Columbia. Established in 2017 by Ron and Tracy Kubek, the winery is renowned for its commitment to organic farming and low-intervention winemaking, producing approximately 2,500 to 3,500 cases annually.
The winery's name is inspired by a distinctive granite rock split in two, discovered on their Elysia Vineyard and rumored to have been struck by lightning. This symbol reflects their mission to craft "electric, natural wines" that embody the unique terroir of the Okanagan Valley. Their portfolio includes Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Viognier, Gamay, Syrah, and traditional method sparkling wines, with a particular emphasis on Pét-Nat styles.
Lightning Rock's vineyards—Elysia, Canyonview, and Trestle Beach—each offer distinct microclimates and soil compositions, contributing to the complexity and character of their wines.
