Ten private guest suites and an 11-bedroom house expand Kismet’s wine, dining and hospitality experience in the South Okanagan.
Kismet Estate Winery has opened Roop Nivas, bringing overnight accommodation to the family-owned Oliver winery for the first time. The new offering includes 10 private guest suites and an 11-bedroom Estate House set among the vineyards, steps from Kismet’s tasting room and Manzil Restaurant, giving guests a new way to experience the winery, restaurant and surrounding vineyard landscape.
The name Roop Nivas honours the family’s late grandfather Jagroop, known as Roop. Roop speaks to beauty, form and grace, while Nivas means home or dwelling. The name was chosen as a tribute to him and to the sense of home and hospitality the family wanted the accommodations to carry.
“Our family has always believed that hospitality starts with making people feel at home,” says Neelam Dhaliwal, General Manager, Kismet Estate Winery. “For years, guests have come here to taste the wines, eat at Manzil, celebrate milestones and spend time with our family. Roop Nivas lets us extend that experience beyond a few hours and give people a chance to really settle into this place. Naming it for our grandfather makes it especially personal.”
The opening is another milestone in a family business that began in the vineyards more than three decades ago. Brothers Sukhi and Balwinder Dhaliwal started as vineyard labourers in the South Okanagan before becoming landowners and growers, eventually building a farming operation that today spans nearly 600 acres across more than 50 vineyard sites between Oliver and Osoyoos. Kismet came later, giving the family its own label after years spent growing fruit for wineries across British Columbia.
Guests at Roop Nivas stay within the same vineyard landscape behind Kismet’s wines, with views across the vineyards, mountains and surrounding South Okanagan. The 10 suites accommodate two guests each and include king or queen beds, private patios or balconies, spacious bathrooms and in-room conveniences. A bottle of Kismet wine is included with each stay.
The Estate House offers 11 bedrooms and room for up to 24 guests, creating an on-site option for wedding parties, family gatherings, retreats, corporate groups and private celebrations. Together with the guest suites, it also allows larger groups to stay across the property while gathering at Kismet.
The accommodations add to an estate that has steadily grown beyond the traditional winery visit. Manzil brings regional Indian food and Kismet wines together on the property, private events welcome weddings and group celebrations, and Head Winemaker Manpreet Dhaliwal continues to lead the winery’s award-winning wine program. Dhaliwal, Canada’s first and only South Asian female head winemaker, was named a BCBusiness 30 Under 30 honouree in 2026.
Roop Nivas brings those experiences together in one place, whether guests are staying after dinner at Manzil, gathering for a wedding weekend, or spending a few days exploring the South Okanagan with Kismet as their home base.
Villa stays currently start at $349 plus tax per night. Bookings are available at kismetestatewinery.com/accommodations. Estate House, wedding, retreat and group inquiries can be made directly through Kismet Estate Winery.
